This is what it's all about!

You will see many people accused of cheating when they achieve a 300, but the reality is that cheat programs are not capable of bowling reliably high scores. The pins set differently on the lanes, and the 'cheat' programs are unable to compensate for this. 'Cheat' programs are designed to get spins and earn badges, no more than that.

It is, however, totally possible to bowl a perfect game without the use of a cheat program, as you can see by the screenshot above of one of my (DAKfromOZ) perfect games. Practice and experimentation are the key to achieving one of these, but you will find pointers in the strike tutorial which will certainly help.
